Wrongfully Denied Fee Waiver Requests

This week, I just want to share a victory Project Citizenship experienced. USCIS’s lockbox support team accepted (and apologized for!) two wrongfully denied fee waiver requests – one for an applicant who receives SNAP, and one for an applicant who receives WIC.

So next time you receive a stack of rejections that you KNOW should have been accepted, don’t despair! Try emailing Lockbox (lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov) before tracking down yet another SNAP letter. We usually include the applicant’s A-number, the NBC receipt number, and the reason we think the waiver should have been accepted. It’s worth a shot.
