Virtual Citizenship Workshop

Volunteer Registration

Thursday, August 5, 2021 – 9:45AM – 11:45AM EST

What is a workshop?

A workshop is where applicants, screened as eligible to apply for citizenship by Project Citizenship, complete their citizenship application with trained volunteers. Rather than using staff to meet with applicants one-on-one, this model allows us to serve many citizens-to-be and engage volunteers in the citizenship process!  At a virtual workshop, with your help as a volunteer, we assist between 15 and 35 eligible immigrants with their applications.

What am I committing to?

Registering means you commit to:

Attending the “live” training on citizenship eligibility and completing the application on Thursday, July 29 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM EST

Attending the virtual citizenship workshop on Thursday, August 5 from 9:45AM – 11:45AM EST

As an application assistance volunteer, you’ll be paired with a pre-screened applicant in a Zoom breakout room to help them complete their citizenship application. Project Citizenship staff will be available to answer questions. When your time with the applicant ends, you transfer the application to a volunteer attorney, who will take over the appointment and review the materials.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Look for calendar invites for the training and workshop with important details and contact information for any questions or if you need to cancel.
