Project Citizenship & Goodwin Procter LLP
Virtual Citizenship Workshops
What is a workshop?
A workshop is where clients, screened as eligible to apply for citizenship by Project Citizenship, complete their citizenship application with trained volunteers. Rather than using staff to meet with clients one-on-one, this model allows us to serve many clients and engage volunteers in the citizenship process! At a virtual workshop, with your help as a volunteer, we assist between 15 and 35 clients with their applications.
What do I need to volunteer?
Stable WiFi connection
Access to a phone
Access to Zoom (free to create an account)
Adobe Reader (free to download)
Quality Control only: Dropbox (free to create an account)
What if I have questions? What am I committing to?
Applicants are pre-screened. Project Citizenship reviews and packages all application.
Volunteers are considered neither “preparers” nor “representatives” on applications. Volunteers are covered by malpractice insurance.
Volunteers have access to training materials before and real-time mentoring during the workshop. Assistance does not extend past the workshop.
What role do I sign up for?
Application Assistance
If you are in-house counsel, a non-attorney, and/or a first-time volunteer, this role is for you! Application assistance completes the citizenship application with a pre-screened client.
Quality Control
If you are a licensed attorney with Goodwin Procter who has volunteered as application assistance at least once, this role is for you! Quality control reviews the completed citizenship application.
Virtual Workshop Dates
Click the role under the date(s) for which you want to volunteer. After registering, you’ll see a confirmation page and receive an email. Look for a calendar invite before the workshop with important details, logistics, and links.
