FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA) – (3/19/19) A man who for years believed he was an illegal immigrant was issued a Certificate of Citizenship at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services office in Fort Smith last week.

Esequiel Uribes was granted his citizenship about a year and a half after Aaron Cash, attorney at Rogers-based Herrera Law Group, began working on his case.

“I’m happy to no longer live in fear of being separated from my family,” Uribes said.
