It has been more than 50 years since she uttered those words, but Eva Rajczyk still gets goosebumps when she hears the U.S. naturalization Oath of Allegiance.

Since her own naturalization in 1965, Rajczyk, a Hungarian immigrant, has volunteered at many more naturalization ceremonies as part of a League of Women Voters delegation that registers new citizens to vote.

That delegation was on hand Tuesday to register the nearly 1,000 new citizens naturalized at a ceremony in the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
