Can I Still Apply for U.S. Citizenship If I Lost My Green Card, or If It Was Stolen?
Yes. You can still apply for citizenship if your green card was lost or stolen. However, before working with Project Citizenship, you must file a police report about your lost or stolen green card. You must bring a copy of that police report to any appointments you have with USCIS.
When you apply, our legal team will help determine the best approach for explaining that your green card was lost or stolen. This may include but is not limited to:
Disclosing that your green card was lost or stolen on your citizenship application
Include a photocopy of your green card, if you have one
Provide your A-number (if you know it)
