Mission and Values

Project Citizenship seeks to increase the naturalization rate in Massachusetts and beyond.  We are a nonprofit agency that provides free, high quality legal services to permanent residents to help them become U.S citizens.  Project Citizenship offers free workshops, eligibility screening, application assistance, legal referrals and all materials needed to apply for U.S. citizenship. In addition, Project Citizenship works collaboratively with community-based partners in Massachusetts to provide a range of support services, civics instruction, application assistance, and ESOL classes.

Why We Do What We Do

Project Citizenship is a client-centered nonprofit organization.  We firmly believe that immigrants are an integral part of a healthy U.S. society.  We focus exclusively on increasing access to U.S. citizenship because we believe that focusing our modest resources on what we do best is the most effective way to ensure the highest quality of services and the best outcome for our clients.

Excellence:  Project Citizenship is dedicated to providing free, timely, high-quality legal services.  We are responsive and efficient in helping immigrants to navigate the citizenship process, and constantly seek to better our practices.

Inclusion:  We treat clients of all diverse backgrounds with compassion and respect.  We prioritize a client’s best interests every step of the way.

Democracy:  Project Citizenship promotes citizenship so that all naturalized citizens can participate in democracy and be civically engaged.

Collaboration:  We engage community-based organizations, partners, and pro bono legal services to make Project Citizenship a community-driven, cost-effective model is that is able to serve a vast number of immigrants across New England.
